          Joanna Bradley has always wanted to be a nurse, so when she is accepted by St. Mark’s as a cadet she is thrilled. It isn’t quite the exciting life she had imagined, though; cadet nurses are only allowed to do the humblest jobs in the hospital, and it will be two years before Jo can work on the wards.
