Book description
No. 3 Commando, about five hundred hand-picked men and all volunteers, fought a hand-to-hand war from the Mediterranean to the Arctic Circle. They learned their skills in hit-and-run raids on the coasts of Occupied Europe; they destroyed valuable installations at Lotofen and Vaasgo, and took part in the ill-fated Dieppe Raid. They fought their way through Sicily and operated ahead of the Allied advance in Italy. Back in Northern Europe, the Commando spearheaded the D-Day landings in Normandy, and were in the forefront of the action all through the final campaigns of the war.
Their first commanding officer, who trained and led them in battle, has written an epic story of their exploits.
