Depressed when his girlfriend left him, Dr Alex Delaware attends a party and steps into a nightmare.

Among the guests is his former lover Sharon Ransom. Alex, however, is reluctant to revive any closer contacts with her. A few days later Sharon is found dead, probably having commited suicide.
