The Passion and the Flower

Paris 1867

Russian prince Ivan Volkonsky falls in love with a brilliant young dancer, Lokita, a girl shrouded in mystery. He sends her lavish floral gifts and precious jewels, but to no avail. Her strict governess watches over her like a hawk. The prince, however, is not to be deterred, and eventually the two young people meet, and a love arises between them.

Lokita lives alone, with only her faithful caretaker, who for years has kept the girl’s origins a secret for fear of her safety. The secret can only be revealed after the death of a powerful man whose existence would hurt Lokita’s social standing.

Lokita mieszka sama, tylko z wierną opiekunką, która przez lata trzymała pochodzenie dziewczyny w tajemnicy w obawie o jej bezpieczeństwo. Sekret może zostać ujawniony dopiero po śmierci potężnego mężczyzny, ponieważ jego istnienie zaszkodziłoby pozycji społecznej Lokity.
