This enlarged third edition is as essential as its predecessors and even more informative.

          Leslie Halliwel has given more extensive coverage to American second features of the 1930s and 1940s, British all-star films which didn’t travel, silent commercial films from major studios, co-feature Westerns and distinguished shorts, including those made by Laurel and Hardy.

          It is hard to imagine how anyone could pack more film information into one volume, let alone do it so entertainingly. Halliwel’s Film Guide is a classic.
