He was a composer, and his family’s long association with India had inspired him to write a concerto to convey all the haunting grandeur of the Himalayas. But then he encountered and old flame — Ayesha, a beautiful Government agent who asked his help in investigating some odd occurrences on the Tibetan border.
Ayesha believed that the Chinese were massing troops for an attack on Bengal, supported by underground movements in the Indian heartland. But no one knew where or when they would strike. And a composer, travelling the troubled border areas to research into local music, would have an ideal opportunity for espionage. Rodney couldn’t resist the challenge.
